new stuff – life on the edge

March30

ok – well – i’ve been playing with some new STUFF over the last few days/weeks …

Twitter – kinda like a giant online global conversation

Flock – new kind of browser that integrates all sorts of social networking stuff – blogging from within flock is quite seamless – especially if you have multiple blogs

Diigo – bookmarking on steroids – i previously have used del.icio.us for bookmarking

Cellfone – heh – i got a new cellphone (Motorola RAZR V3X) and have been playing with camera and video functions – and mobile posting of pictures to Flickr & Photobucket and mobile posting of videos to Youtube

Thanks for sharing those links and talking a little about Flock, been seeing a few tag-lines but never went to investigate. Going to add those bookmarks and check it out when I’m more awake.

That RAZR V3X looks nice. Haven’t seen one first hand but it appears to be a better built then the older models. I’ve been giving RAZR’s to our salesforce and they’ve been great phones just slightly on the fragile side compared to others.

It’s been great following your twitters :-)

    Thanks for following my tweets

I upgraded from a Motorola V360 and i’m loving the upgrade – it’s slightly larger than the V360 but it’s not a bad trade off to get the better video and picture capabilities.

I have a secret passion – well – maybe not so secret – teaching is not about feeding information into kids brains – it’s about creating a place where kids are inspired, enthused, excited about discovery and learning – so my goal as a teacher is to leave my kids wanting more and having the skills to find out more.

This year I’ve moved up a year level and am enjoying the more sophisticated conversations and explorations that we are having in the classroom. It’s exciting to see kids motivated because our classroom is using 21st Century tools for their everyday teaching and learning.

This blog is really for my reflective practise – about things that have worked (or not worked) in my classroom and to share these with others in my PLN.

I should also mention that I’m a Kiwi living in the North Island of New Zealand (just north of Wellington).
